A reassuring thought: PlusPlus uses the AFM license of Lendahand

Sounds scary, this banner? It isn't. In fact, it’s a good sign: PlusPlus is one of the few Dutch crowdfunding platforms with a license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).

So why this banner? Because the loans on our website are quite small (maximum about €50.000) the AFM has exempted us from the obligation to publish a prospectus (information document) for each project. So the investments themselves are not assessed by the AFM. This also saves us a lot of time and money, which we prefer to spend on making impact. However, we do produce such an information document for every entrepreneur on our platform. Feel free to read it before you start lending.

For small-scale coffee farmers in Colombia, the effects of climate change are evident. The last few years have seen exceptionally high rainfall, causing their coffee crops to fail. To make them more resilient, Federacion Campesina, a farmers' association, has created a climate plan that helps the farmers better cope with the changing climate. In a way that benefits both people and the environment, because their coffee was already Fair Trade and Organic certified. With this loan, the organization can help 75 farmers and their families sustainably improve their incomes.

CLECAM 5

Less risk, more impact and a boost for female entrepreneurship. This indirect loan allows Rwandan microcredit partner CLECAM to give small loans to farmers, who use them to improve their crops. Most of them are women and for them this makes a world of difference. Like for Brandine. "I now earn enough to send my children to university, pay for a water system at my house and install electricity so the children can study at home." For women like Brandine, the loan means much more than just money. It empowers them.
